Silk, Denim and Feed India

As some may know, I shop once in a blue moon. The majority of my clothes are hand-me-downs, from swaps or gifts. But there is the rare occasion where I do purchase something new...

When I'm looking at purchasing something, I try to investigate whether or not the designer gives back via charity/philanthropy work. And last year while doing some research I learned that Rachel Roy is actively participating in charities around the world (India, Uganda, Ethiopia, Haiti) and that she also has her own initiatives, like Kindness is Always Fashionable and ethically sourcing fabrics from India.

One of her recent initiatives is a collaboration with Lauren Bush's FEED campaign. Rachel Roy designed two limited edition bags for charity. "For every FEED India bag sold, 100 school meals will be provided to children in India." FEED creates good products that help FEED the world. They sell bags, apparel and accessories.

I've had the chance to talk to Rachel Roy in person and via phone about her philanthropic work and she's so inspiring. I can't wait for you to hear what she's got to say about living life positively and giving back.
